Rating: Gen
Warnings: none
Characters: Diefenbaker
Notes: Drawn in Procreate for the current Drawesome challenge to draw something in motion - and also for the current 30th anniversary celebration of due South. I couldn't see Dief chasing a frisbee, but a doughnut? Definitely. :)

Line drawing of Dief in mid-air, leaping after a doughnut. Below is a fish-eye lens view of Chicago.

Title: Challenge 17 sketches
Artist: mekare
Rating: G
Fandom: Due South, Slings&Arrows, Marvel
Characters: Diefenbaker, Renfield Turnbull, Geoffrey Tennant, Clint Barton
Content Notes: I used one of the pens I got in my March scrawlrbox which I had previously ignored because I didn't really know what to do with it. Turns out it is a lot of fun to use because you can never quite control what colour will come out (it has yellow, blue and red). Clint I did with a tinted graphite pen (I got that one in the last box) in aubergine. I couldn't resist adding Geoffrey too, especially as I'm watching season 3 of Slings&Arrows where he starts therapy because of his unconctrollable bursts of crying. Well, and because he's Geoffrey - irresistable.
Okay and for those who don't know, Diefenbaker is deaf, Turnbull is 'eccentric' to say the least (there isn't an official diagnosis on the show apart from 'his brain resembles Swiss cheese'), Geoffrey's whole story circles around his past big nervous breakdown in season 1 (and I'm still waiting for the final season to find out if spoiler )) and Clint is 80% deaf in the comics.

Title: Not again Dr Isley!
Artist: [personal profile] mekare
Rating: G
Fandom: DCU, Due South
Characters/Pairings: Dr Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Batman, Dick Grayson/Robin, Superman, Benton Fraser, Diefenbaker
Content Notes: Created for Challenge #10: Prompt Generator. I got biology - pick - illegal on my first try and did a pencil sketch pretty quickly. Then work got crazy and I inked it in a bit of a hurry last night by using my new Pentel brush pen (so I have the option of going over it with watercolours later). It was fun and taught me a lot about using the pen. I couldn't resist doing a little crossover and adding Dief and Fraser in the park as well. Dief of course is pretty much on to Pam.

Artist’s name: [personal profile] crysothemis
Artist websites: own website Chez Crysothemis, and on deviantart (and just 2 artworks on AO3, which I'll link below).
About the artist: Crysothemis is a USA-based fanartist and fanfic writer who used to be active in SGA fandom -  it's an older body of work, no longer being added to as far as I know.
Why this artist is awesome: Crysothemis's art will be well known to SGA fans but I still love these drawings and watercolours and wanted to share them.
Type of media used by this artist: mostly traditional - pencil drawings and watercolours, and a few digital works on Chez Crysothemis.
Fandoms in which the Artist has been active:  Stargate Atlantis, due South

Links to some of my favourite artworks by this Artist:

John Sheppard with, um, wings - a good example of Crys's skill with pencil drawings, also a cute pic of Sheppard looking wry about his wings.

In Depth Examination - a wonderful view of shenanigans in the waters under Atlantis. Click through a few times to see the whole pic for the depth and perspective, then for the close-up of the bottom of the ocean.

Renaissance men and Vitruvian John (NSFW - nudity) - an AU John and Rodney in a Renaissance setting. The first pic has strategic objects protecting John's modesty, but not the second one!

Title: Inktober Week 4 Summary
Artist: [personal profile] mific
Rating: G
Fandoms: SGA, Die Hard, and due South (and kind of The Addams Family)
Characters/Pairings: Teyla Emmagan, Rodney McKay/John Sheppard, Ronon Dex, John McClane, Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski
Content Notes: Experimenting some more this past week, after getting myself some new watercolour paints. The two due South pics aren't pure traditional artworks as I layered the inking on top of more complicated watercolour backgrounds using Photoshop, but I'm counting the inked parts for the challenge anyway. Only 4 works - 5 if I include the tossed off blind drawing of John McClane - but some of them were detailed and took more than one day. I had fun in the due South ones experimenting with watercolour techniques I'd seen on youtube - using salt crystals and paint splatter for the Milky Way stars. I found ordinary table salt worked better than coarse salt as I wanted a fine-grain mass of stars. For the Freefall one I used very wet paper and let the paint run.
Three more pics to go, just when work's exploding on me, damn.
