Summary: speedy striped merperson
Content Notes:

Drawn with the same nib you saw yesterday, this time it's Diamine's Spruce. It's scented, so sniff hard and you might get a soapy pine fragrance.
I wouldn't though, it's honestly not that pleasant.
I am very tired due to Eurovision being 3am my time.

Fandom: N/A

Summary: This mer is also from the deep sea
Content Notes: A quick odd deepsea merperson drawn with a dip pen in Diamine's Serendipity. Which has shimmer and sheen which it steadfastly refused to demonstrate in this light.

Characters/Pairings: Aquaman
Notes: No warnings apply. Part of a cracky series for Mermay and the current Drawesome prompt, where I shoehorn "mer" into various characters' names.
Summary: Because seriously, Aquaman should always have been a mer. Whenever he hits the water, the tail appears!

Aaaaand I think it's the end for this page, I'll have to find some more paper.

Drawn in Diamine Spiced Apple chameleon ink. Which doesn't show up that well but is pretty enough.

Content Notes: This is a work-in-progress for Challenge #70 (MerMay & Marine). Digital drawing using Adobe Fresco.

I started off by using poses from this Youtube video for a 10-minute gesture drawing exercise. I selected 3 of the figures for the mermaids, then used the gesture line along one of the legs as a guide for how to sweep the curve of the fish tail.

Here's the original 10-minute sketch exercise: Photo )

And here's my current progress on the 3 mermaids. I added some more details to the upper half of their bodies, and a splash of colour in the background...

Content Notes:

This merperson is trying to find room on the page but they squeezed in there somehow!

Diamine Winterberry and Lemon and Lime, both of which are Chameleon, which is a very subtle colour changing sparkle, and an unknown reddish brown that was in the Kaweco Sport that we could probably work out what it is if we look back to my October posts.

The colouring is reminiscent of the friendly Redlip Morwongs that frequent the rocky reefs of the coast here.

Summary: This mer is more of a Sirenia...
Content Notes:

This merperson looks more like a manatee - almost vestigial arms and hands and hardly any neck. I'm still going with the vertical tail theme though. Drawn in turquoise blue ink with a purple sheen and gold shimmer. Darker dorsal, with white spots, pale underside with tiny spots.

This page is getting crowded. But I'll see how much I can reasonably crowd them in.

This was drawn with a LAMY Demonstrator filled with the beautiful Van Diemen's Ink Shimmer Azure Kingfisher, it's a beauty isn't it?

Summary: A fishy salesperson
Content Notes: I asked [personal profile] rdm what sort of merperson to draw and he said one that was selling something. What better than one who is trying to sell a fishbone comb to the combing merperson from yesterday?

This is drawn in the Rose Quartz fountain pen ink from the Pelikan Meetup last year and Robert Oster Signature Barossa Gilt, Eco and Lamy fountain pens plus the dilute black ink from yesterday.

A dodgy marine salesperson, merlike, but decidedly on the fishy side.

It's all explained very clearly here https://www.thejuicemedia.com/honest-government-ad-how-to-vote-2025/ - be warned there is swearing but not too bad.
