Thanks to mekare for suggesting our first drawing challenge of the new year.

Challenge #22 - Finish a WiP

Complete at least one Work-in-Progress

We all have artworks that were started but then abandoned halfway through, or meant to complete but never got around to it. You can select works from previous community challenges, or from any other sources. Feel free to share "before" and "after" pics of your work, if you wish.

A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done on Saturday 26th January, 2019 Saturday 9th February, 2019.

That's what I thought too! Glad it's something you're interested in. :)

I have quite a few pieces, from Drawesome challenges especially, where I meant to transform lead pencil sketches into finished works with colour, but then never got around to it.

Ho, interesting... I have a *very* old WIP that was initially centered around the animals/symbols of the zodiac interwined (Taurus, Aries, gemini) but never did anything with it in the end... maybe I could do something with it in the style I'm using gow for my golden animal series.
It would probably be more than a month worth of work though... *thinking*

Ooh, that sounds lovely!

Maybe you could do it in phases, depending on your process. Like maybe you could do the drawing outlines for the entire work over the next couple weeks.

Or maybe try a smaller, single piece that could be finished much quicker, and work on the larger piece at a more comfortable pace. All our challenges are open, so anytime you get the zodiac one done, you can always post it to the community and I'll add it to the Round-Up list for the WiP challenge.

The impossible thing will be to decide which of the hundreds of WIPs to choose!

Heh, yeah. And knowing how prolific you've been in the past year alone, that's a LOT to choose from.

For me, the choices have basically been narrowed down to which pencil sketches were done directly on watercolour paper, but never painted over. I think I'll probably just randomly choose one from whichever fandom/character pops into my head first.

Hmmm. I... actually don't work like that, so I don't have many. There'a digital one that's totally NSFW and kinky, but I'm not brave enough to post it!
Maybe one of Teyla, though, as I did a portrait that didn't work out a few months ago, and it needs redoing.

Aww, I love that Fandom is a pretty accepting place, but I totally understand your reticence. But if you have one that NSFW that you'd like to finish, you could still complete it (for yourself) and just post a SFW section or preview of the artwork to the comm for now, if you don't feel comfortable with sharing the entire image in public.
