Yesterday was the last day of the month (and year!), and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you?

Did you get a chance to take part in any fandom activities in December, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, New Year's Resolutions, etc.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to you guys for your friendship, encouragement and support, and for making this community a joy to be a part of. *hugs everyone* Happy New Year!

Kind of? Several friends have given me drawing prompts that would involve older people, and it would be a ggood way to expand my abilities.

Me too, definitely. I am trying my hand at someone in particular right now, for fandom_stocking. I’ll post a link when the reveals are happening. But I definitely need more practice.

I need to learn to draw older people

Hey, that might be an interesting idea for a drawing challenge! I can't recall the last time I drew an aging individual, so it might be a good opportunity to practice that.

YES definitely make a challenge of that! I can think of so many cool characters:

Dumbledore, aged!Doctor, Prof. McGonagall, Gandalf, Théoden, Denethor, Leia of course, Luke, Han, Vice Admiral Holdo, the dads from Due South, various Star Trek Generals and captains etc. etc.

Ooooh! I like the idea of focusing on aging tv/movie characters, and providing a list from a variety of fandoms to get the creativity going.

Also, there's the entire DCU (love old mam Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond) and Marvel gallery of characters, including parents, and of course previous generations of superheroes and villians, who make the odd cameo now and again, much to the delight of fans. *g*
