Drawesome Monthly Check-In Post

Yesterday was the last day of the month (and year!), and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you?

Did you get a chance to take part in any fandom activities in December, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, New Year's Resolutions, etc.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to you guys for your friendship, encouragement and support, and for making this community a joy to be a part of. *hugs everyone* Happy New Year!

I had some weirdness going on with the .psd file, and this isn't a totally new digital drawing of Sam, but I wanted to end the year on a positive, so here's my piece for the jigsaw.

I just realised I probably shouldn't have used a black background!

Hi everybody - Happy New Year!
For those of you who've already celebrated it, hope you're not feeling too many after-effects!

Reminding you that this is the last day to do a puzzle piece of any kind for the puzzle patchwork we'll put together shortly.

We're not quite at the end of 1st January everywhere in the world, so the challenge is open until midnight on the 1st, Midway Island time! (when is that?)

If it's all been too busy in the lead-up to New Year, never mind, because, as with all our challenges, if you do a puzzle-piece after the challenge period we'll definitely add it in, both to the masterlist of works and to the collated, pieced-together artwork - in fact it'd be lovely to see that grow a bit across 2018 as people get time and inspiration to contribute to it.

Here's a reminder about the challenge.

Hi everyone - it's time for our final challenge of 2017 - the Group Project!

We're not really making a jigsaw, but the shape means that our individual artworks will fit together. The idea is to each fill the puzzle piece with anything at all - a drawing, colours, patterns, a portrait - whatever you like. Either as digital art or print it off and fill it with traditional drawing or painting - it's all good. Post your completed puzzle piece to the community when it's done, and when we do the Roundup list, we'll also post all the pieces fitted together into one overall Group Project. We're not trying to make a coherent overall picture so the variety of the different works will be interesting. You can turn the puzzle piece on its side as well, as some pieces will need to fit in that way.

The gray area is just to remind you to keep your art to the inside of the puzzle piece, as the outer part will be deleted when we combine them all. You can get rid of the gray if you like - or one download option has a white background. Depending on how many people take part we'll probably have to make each piece a little smaller for the final combined work, so that it's not too huge. We'll figure that out when we get there.

This challenge runs right up to New Year's day, to mark the end of the year - happy drawing, everyone! :)
