Am I doing this right Drawesome people? It's my first time.

So the Dreamwidth Drawsome community has generated its own list of drawing prompts for this traditionally drawy month, and it's the one I'll be doing this time.

I've drawn an Australian Magpie in response to the prompt 'Pie'. As usual it's straight ink to paper, no pencil, no rubbing out.

The ink I used was the Golden Lapis which Pelikan gave to Pelikan Hub attendees. Thank you Pelikan!



Australian Magpies look different to the other birds commonly called magpies. However if you're Australian and you think it still looks wrong bear in mind I got up at 4am this morning and spent just over half an hour on it, so I think it's pretty good for that.

Australian Magpies are a very common sight in the suburbs and the country. Intelligent, dapper and with one of the most beautiful songs on the planet courtesy of their double windpipe giving them the ability to do their own chords, they can become fiercely protective of their nests at this time of year.
