This is such a dynamic pose and gorgeous figure work - I especially love the background and the lower left ragged white space "in" the sky blue to really sell the motion of the incoming sword!

I‘ve had that pose saved for a long time and was glad this was the perfect opportunity to finally get to it! The white spaces were completely accidental initially if you can believe it (brush just running out of paint) but I liked the effect without thinking about the larger picture. Funny how that happens sometimes.

One thing I love about art is the happy accidents, and this is such a great example of one. :D (It happens when composing music too, ironically because I am a deeply mediocre pianist even when I'm in practice.)
