Today's the last day of May, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in May, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on. :)

Our round-up of entries for Drawing Challenge #36: MerMay will be posted up shortly, and we will have a new monthly challenge starting tomorrow on Tuesday 1st June. :)

I really enjoyed seeing all the mermaid-themed art this month, both here on drawesome, and other places on the net. ^__^

I finished one piece, which was to mermaidize a friend - so much fun! Took some work-in-progress pics, which can be seen here. :)

I still have one more mermaid-themed work in progress - an AU based on one of my latest favourite shows - Word of Honor. It's a sort of dramatic piece, and I want to do the visual I have in my head justice, so instead of rushing to meet today's deadline, I'm gonna take my time with it, and hopefully submit it a bit later this month.

I have sucked at doing the drawing challenges lately because my life is on fiiiiiire (for good reasons, but still, very busy) but I've experimented with digital photorealism and am now relaxing with manga-style because I need to do something not-too-hard to relax after work. XD I'm currently doing head-and-shoulders portraits (so, easy mode) of characters from a novel WIP so I can get to know them better!

Work has been really stressful this month, so as you can all see I drew a LOT to help heal my soul from the daily depredations of selling pieces of myself to earn a living. Thank you again for the opportunity. :)

I also wrote a bit, including three hurt/comfort stories that were really pleasing to create, especially in this stressful time. Nothing like giving one's characters the hugs one needs.

I'm sorry it's been so stressful lately, but it's good that you can channel it into producing art and writing. *hugs* I've really enjoyed your enthusiasm and all the works you've produced for this month's challenge! <333

I felt a bit flatter across this past month - partly busyness from a work project, partly maybe the shorter days here, now it's autumn. Also I committed to several writing challenges and am starting to procrastinate and feel bothered about those. Art-wise, I did the two pieces for Mermay, a very NSFW toned paper McShep drawing Attention to Detail, and continued with my Stargate Tarot project, with The Empress, The Emperor, and The Hierophant.

I have done basically no drawing in May until the 26th and even then I have not finished the one (1) piece I started. New meds ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a fic assignment, so I've been working on that, but the fic has inspired me to create art for it, so I'm sort of spinning around in circles between writing and arting. Which isn't helpful for either.

I need to buckle down and finish the fic, and if I have time, do the art.
