Challenge #36 - MerMay

Draw a mermaid (inspired by #MerMay).

For the rest of the month of May, we will be using the #MerMay prompts list as inspiration for drawing. However, you are not limited by these particular prompts. Feel free to take your mermaid-themed artworks in any direction. You can create a single drawing this month, or as many artworks as you wish.

What exactly is the #MerMay Challenge?
MerMay is an art challenge that happens in May, where artists from all around the world draw mermaids. The name MerMay is a combination of two words – Mermaid, and May. It starts at the beginning of May and lasts until the end of the month. The challenge is to draw a mermaid every day during this time. Mmh I really want to do a non-Western mermaid for this prompt. I need to research if mermaids or mermaid-adjacent creatures appear in other cultures as well.

31 days of mermaids is A Lot! Anyone planning on going all in?

Yeah, that's why I kept it to at least drawing A mermaid this month. I feel like that's a feasible goal for many of us. Heh.

Some of the 2021 prompts have piqued my interest though, so I might try to do one a week if time permits. How about you?

Not me. I will be lucky if I have time for one mermaid. I also think that MerMay didn't user to be a 31 mermaids challenge? Idk maybe I just didn't pay attention.

I'll aim for a couple I think - I don't like all the prompts but some of them are okay.

I think I managed one last year; May is such a busy month for me. But I'm already having ideas. We'll see.
