Tomorrow's the last day of February, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in February, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on. :)

Our round-up of entries for Drawing Challenge #33: Pattern Design will be posted tomorrow, and we will have a new monthly challenge starting on Monday 1st March. :D

It feels like it's been AGES since I did a drawesome challenge, and this was a fun one to work on. I learned a new technique - how to do the seamless patterns - so that was exciting. ^__^

This past month, I think I got a bit of my drawing mojo back. I made fanart for both cdrama fandoms that I'm currently into - Guardian and The Untamed:
- For sundial_exchange challenge: Wield - Guardian, G (& bonus WiP post)
- For the annual Psychic Wolves for Lupercalia event: The Untamed/Psychic Wolves AU fanart, G
- For drawesome challenge #33: Hallows Pattern - Guardian, G (& bonus WiP post)

I'd like to keep up this momentum of creating a couple pieces of art a month. Also, I started playing around with drawing digitally, using my stylus pen on the touch screen, so I'm hoping to develop my skills in that direction as well. :)

Oh, I hadn't seen Wield before - it's amazing! I also love the wolf design, so clever, and the repeating pattern.

I've had a recent art blow-out for the Black is Beautiful festival, but the reveals aren't for a week, so I'll do a round-up of Feb then.

I worked on a bunch of projects. I am slowing trying to chip away at a lot of things.

The only thing I completed was Leverage themed Valentine's Day Card.

I am working on some more Leverage pieces, but for the most part my fan projects go over like lead balloons.

Still not managed a single Drawesome challenge but I've been pretty busy...painted a book bench and a hare, done some art for a couple of bangs and today premiered Supernatural Season 16 (unofficial version 😂)
I need to do a round up post about it!

Also in the boat of not having done a Drawesome challenge, and the personal piece I was working on for new years also has been taking me absolute ages because I keep trying to fiddle with the composition ahah. Might finish that at least today.

I think the sundial_exchange and drawesome challenge were the only things I did this month.

I have been busy gathering new art bunnies from my Nirvana in Fire rewatch. Originally my plan was to start a portrait of Michael Burnham (as determined by a poll I ran in my journal) and the plan is still there. The problem with that was me being alone (with bb) at home for three weeks which meant art intervals of between 2-10 minutes. Which is NOT conducive to portrait drawing from reference! But a pattern with lots of tiny things was doable, as was the Guardian art (no faces, haha).

Feb turned out to be a busy month - all entirely self-imposed! I held off doing a round-up of Feb until now as a few of my works were in the Black is Beautiful festival, and creators were only revealed today. From time to time I have a blow out in a challenge, and this turned out to be one of those - in the end I did five works for it: two treats and three pinch hits. In the process I got some writing mojo back, which led to also doing two fics for Romancing McShep, and a John/Ronon artwork for Romancing SGA. So, works in Feb were:
Shepherd Book (Firefly) in my BIPOC Portraits series. Then of course all the Black is Beautiful works superseded doing those in Feb, although the BisB ones weren't individual portraits.
The final art post for the Venom Big Bang, Illustrations for "Living With Our Sins" where unfortunately the writer became uncontactable so the fic itself isn't yet posted.
The Language of Flowers - a Ray K/Fraser due South manip for the dS Flower Crown festival.
In Your Hands - a dom/sub portrayal of John and Ronon, for Romancing SGA.
Sidecar Hijinks - a fun artwork done in 2020 but only posted recently in the Romancing McShep reversebang.
Then in the Black is Beautiful festival:
Teal'c's Big Skiing Adventure - as Teal'c of SG1 deserved to have more fun than he did in canon!
Waiting - which focuses on an AU friendship between Ford and Ronon (SGA).
On Your Knees - an M-rated kinky depiction of Sam and Bucky (Marvel)
Plausible Deniability - Anthony/Simon pre-slash art from Bridgerton.
And, (fic with a graphic for illustration) Vacation Planning, a Magicians/Discworld crossover (Persephone and Death) which was a lot of fun.
