It's February 1st! \o/ We're kicking off our 2021 drawing challenges with one inspired by mific's recent art posts on designing patterns.

Challenge #33 - Pattern Design

Create a PATTERN by drawing elements that repeat.

A pattern is an arrangement of repeated parts or decorative designs. Your repeating design may be created by hand or digitally.

We've also compiled a small list of possible prompts/themes to get you going, but of course you are not limited by these:
- Flowers and plants
- Household items
- Food, fruit and vegetables
- Animals
- Holidays and celebrations
- Winter, Summer
- Hobbies
- Fandom-related objects

Patterns - such fun! This time I'm going to be brave and actually cut up my RL drawing, rather than doing that virtually (i.e. last time I pieced it together in Photoshop which was really fiddly and difficult).

Hooray new challenge! I actually started to design a pattern for last year‘s Person of Interest Big Bang inspired by William Morris‘s patterns but never finished that. This seems like the perfect opportunity to get back to that project.

Oh neat idea! I'm not sure if I have any ideas for patterns right now, hm, going to have to think about that.

For the digital side, I watched angrymikko on Youtube a while ago and he had a nice one about how to do a repeating pattern with Procreate (but it should work pretty well in most other apps I think), has some tricks about how to match up the pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLRbQGy8hYE
