Today's the last day of July, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in July, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

Challenge Extension / Round-Up



The deadline for Drawesome Challenge #31: Shrimp Method has now been extended to mid-August. The new Round-Up post will be made on Sunday 16th August, 2020, so we now have an extra two weeks to complete the challenge.

So far, we had a completed entry from yue_ix, who did some lovely work on crystals. And I'm still working on the middle stages of the challenge, sketching from reference pics of husky puppies.

What are you guys working on (or planning to) for the challenge? Hope you find the extension useful. :)

I decided not to work on a penis. ;) I have been working on unrelated art, actually -- I discovered a company who will print STICKER SHEETS for me, and am busily constructing such sheets to send them. If anyone wants one, drop me a PM!

Also I have been having an art correspondence *waves to most talented and excellent correspondent*.

I've been wondering about making some stickers myself now I'm filling up my sketchbooks and need to tart up their covers, but I'd love some of yours if you have spares!

Absolutively! Drop me a PM with a mailing address.

The two places I print my stickers are Vistaprint (for sheets of a single design) and Sticker Mule (for sticker sheets with assorted designs). Both companies are the most inexpensive I've found as well as having great customer service and quick turnaround. Definitely make some stickers! And I'd love a few when you do. :)

Ahhhh thank you! Sticker Mule sounds like the sort of thing I'm looking for, since I'd like several different designs. Not that I've got any designs ready yet, but when I do!

Yeah, it took me awhile to find a place that would affordably make sticker sheets (most want, like, $500 to make 100 sheets, which is a bit much). I really enjoy putting several designs on one sheet.

Thanks for extending the deadline! I've done my "before, from memory" page of pics and a few from references. I'm doing cats as I love cats and draw them quite a bit but they always look cartoonish and not real. I should have the challenge done in another few days.

I've mostly been flat out writing a 30,000 word Stargate Atlantic McShep Big Bang fic (done! But I ought to be writing a due South one now, argh). I've slowed right down with the landscapes (only 1 in July), but I've done a few BIPOC portraits, and have fallen into "The Old Guard" fandom and am now stupidly keen to do portraits in that fandom now. But no, I have to wriiiite. :C

So, finally I have some time to properly reply here. I only managed one piece of unfinished art this month for Nirvana in Fire, which I posted here. I am very slowly finishing it, just need to add some shadows and can probably post later this weekend.

I did some more tracing for the shrimp challenge (Jaskier and Geralt from the Witcher as practice for WIPbigbang) but definitely overcommitted by taking on two fics in WIPbigbang. I will get my pieces done as I still have one week until the deadline but now everything is rushed and not as fun. I do look forward to drawing the Witcher and Sansa Stark though (as well as Susan from Narnia).
