Content Notes: This is a redraw of an ink sketch from 2012. This time around, niqaeli agreed to model for me (so I would have reference for the foreshortening, which is very wonky in the original) in an approximation of the original pose, and I used the photo as a basis for the sketch and then the inks. IIRC, the original was inked using a fude nib fountain pen. This time I used a dip pen and Dr Ph Martin's colored India ink (Crimson) plus a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen for the black areas.

Oh, I like these! Using a real model to get the pose right in the redraw was a good idea. You've captured her arrogance there.

Wonderful! It's so good to have someone willing to pose for reference, especially for getting the foreshortening right. Hands and feet are particularly difficult, and you captured them so well!

Thank you! I used to be vaguely ashamed to use reference and now? ALL THE TIME if I can help it. My husband usually poses for me, but he was, ah, not going to be as good a model for a curvy lady so I was grateful with niqaeli agreed to model for me. :)

That's so interesting, the change in styles is noticeable and yet consistent somehow... Your most recent one is much looser and more relaxed.

Again, just like in mific's piece reference seems to be key. Sitting poses and foreshortening are so hard to do without a reference. I do love the details on the throne in the original.
