Discussion: Art skill development

Since we are in between challenges atm, I’d be interested in what you are all working on. Do you have a specific skill you are trying to learn? A technique or new medium? A subject matter you haven’t portrayed a lot? Is making time for your art a challenge right now?

What are your personal challenges right now or your successes?

Thank you, though, I don't think it requires a specific level of skill to start designing your own characters. Wanting to draw my OCs is a lot of the reason I got into art, so the earliest art of OCs (from when I was ~12-13) I have are really poor proportions, ill-fitting clothes, generic faces, etc. Trying to make their designs better was and is a great motivator to improve my art skill. So if designing characters is something you want to do, I'd say just go for it. :)
