It's the last day of April, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in April, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

So many challenges this year, I am surprised at myself.

Okay, going back through my April posts (wow it‘s been over quick, I agree) I find:

A musing on an article on writing and two poem recs

a Due South season 3 ramble

Art

Marvel: My first Sam/Bucky piece in coloured pencils and pencil, playing around with effects of black and white vs colour.

Infinity War spoilers Communion, rating NC-17 (my first art post ever with that rating), Steve/Bucky art and rant at Marvel

Due South: Fraser practice for the ds_c6d_bigbang I signed up for. This is my longterm project until August and will eventually probably be three to five pieces.


Two challenge pieces which were due:

My art for Smallfandombang, a biggish pastel piece which was my first attempt ever at cover art.

my space_swap gift for weakinteraction, Beverly Crusher/Jean-Luc Picard, the first time in ages that I tried working with coloured pencils again. I‘m very out of practice...

In return I got a lovely (nsfw) threesome fic: Kara/Winn/Mon-El A Win-Winn Situation which was supercool because it was what I hadn‘t dared hope someone would write for me. :-))))

So all in all a lot of art, I‘m pretty happy with that.

Eta: I forgot, and I signed up for Marvelbang today. Hooray!

Ooooh, Marvelbang! Do you have a link? Once May is over, I might have more time on my hands for art challenges. I should go check that one out...

Yay! I'm all signed up! I'm so glad I can do the challenge through Dreamwidth, rather than having to use Tumblr.

I usually partner with a writer, but found it interesting that there's also an option to do solo art. Cool...

I‘m doing it solo like last year, and just hope that I get to claim a fic I like.

Oh and maybe you could make a noticeboard post like you did that one time and promote it here? Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang has also started signups:

Thank you. I'm about 75% done with the next one *headdesk* This film makes me want to reverse everything. CANON - rips apart favourite pairing* ME *how to bring them together as naked and close as possible*

Haha! At least it isn't the kind of canon that's so bland that it just kills any interest in the fans. ^^

I actually enjoyed the movie, but I get what you mean, there wasn't a lot of them to go on pairing-wise (or even characterization-wise actually), and that last scene was heartbreaking.

I mean I didn't expect a lot because I knew there'd be so many different character etc. but what we got was soooooo brief and left so many questions (probably intentionally??? so we can drive ourselves crazy asking?)

I got over my shock of the last scene a bit and now want all the Stucky-in-Wakanda-on-a-farm fics.

Yup, looking back, I've gotten over my slump in March a bit :-)
