Inktober week 2 - Challenge #9

Continuing my series of Stargate Atlantis characters and their daemons, illustrating Daemonology by trinityofone  - although only Marshall and his German shepherd dog were in the story. The rest of the daemons I'm inventing. My reason for choosing the various daemons is noted below each thumbnail, if you're interested. I'm trying to develop techniques to speed up the process, as I don't have things that pro artists have, like a lightbox. Still overdoing the cross-hatching - I haven't worked out yet how to convey dark colours without multiple layers of that.

The individual chapters so far are (using the inked works as links here - on AO3 I've posted the initial pencil work as well as the inked version)

Marshall Sumner and Ingfridh (a German shepherd)	Laura Cadman and Fossick (a red fox - for liveliness, pretty fur/hair, and smarts.)	Evan Lorne and Kushala  (a gopher - a pun on Evan's job, and as he's a geologist so they both like digging.)
Halling of Athos and Udanna (a Pegasus forest deer, also to increase the range of daemon colours.)	Jeannie Miller and Orshon (a golden lion tamarin - as they're both smart, with great hair, and tamarins are excellent fathers.)	Chuck Campbell and Binette (a puffin - she goes fishing off the Gateroom balcony but never drips on the consoles.)
Aiden Ford and Alasanne (a bull terrier, as they're basically very sweet, but if badly treated, can be dangerous. Also, the eye, of course.)

 
I'm not sure that I can manage the whole month now as work's going to get very busy soon with three big beta-reading tasks that I have to do by a tight deadline. *Sigh*. I'd much rather be arting.

Damn it will be a shame if you can't end up with a full set of these, they are working so well. The inking really makes the art much more striking, especially for the animals.

Oh nice! The last two are new for me. I really like your Chuck, I instantly recongized him and his daemon is so sweet!
