Today's the last day of July, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in July, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming art challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

We would also like to express appreciation to ilthit for the gift of 6 months paid status to our community. Thank you!

NB: A Round-Up of art entries for the Disability Diversity challenge will be posted today, and a new monthly challenge will be issued later this week. :)

I enjoyed this month's Disability Diversity challenge, and created 2 pieces of art. It was fun to revisit a fandom from my teenage years (ST:TNG), and I was also glad to discover an Iranian artist whose work I'd never come across before. :)

I'm currently working on my art entry for the wipbigbang challenge, which is due shortly.

And I recently signed up for comment_bingo. Looking forward to leaving feedback for fic as well as artworks that fit the squares on my assigned card.

Yes I'm relieved that my author's posting date is mid-Sept for WIPBB, so plenty of time to work on the art!

Yeah, my posting date is also mid-Sept, so that definitely takes the pressure off, but I'm still aiming to get it done over the next few weeks. :)

I'm gradually getting back into more fannish challenges again, now RL is a bit more manageable. Still art rather than writing, at this stage. I managed a couple of works for the Disability Diversity challenge, and a couple for Multifandomdoodle in small fandoms - Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing, and The Lovers (Night Vale). Also did two pieces of SGA podfic cover art - for A Farm in Iowa, and for The Long Dark. My printer is all set up now so I just need to slightly reorganise my art room to do trad art again as well as digital. It'll be good to get back to my Stargate tarot project again.

Where did July go?

I was thinking of drawing flowers for Sunshine Challenge and didn't even get around to looking up reference photos of the different types of flowers.

Never got around to anything for Drawesome.

I did do some drawings for the Big Bang project, but I still don't have anything I'm happy with. Last I heard, my author was planning to go for a late posting date, though I'm not sure what the actual deadline is that got settled on.

Why do I always feel so busy when I'm never actually doing anything?

I did two drawesome challenge pieces in July, for the Draw what you see and Disabilit,y Diversity challenge. Yay!

Apart from that, one exchange piece was revealed: There was only one umbrella. I‘ve been away for half the month, and although I took my art supplies with me, I only did one evening of actually drawing something for my two assignments which are due soon.
