This is pretty last minute, but if you have a chance (and are able to), do check out at least the first 15 minutes of this film which is now being screened online by the Japanese Film Festival Online (elisheva_m posted everything about it here ). I haven‘t even finished watching, but the first bit has a live sumi-e painting and glimpse of a sumi-e workshop which I found fascinating to watch. All the different brush shapes and the way the ink was used was very inspiring!

The film appears to be about a young law student who is so moved by an art piece that the artist offers him an apprenticeship.
