Content Notes: For the Counterculture Creature challenege, I wanted to use a creature that was local to my area of the UK, a tricksy Simonside Dwarf, mainly associated with the Simonside Hills in Northumberland. These dwarves would lead travellers astray, especially after dark, and then disappear at dawn leaving them stranded. I wanted to turn that around and have my dwarf be a tour guide, carrying a tour sign instead of a lit torch and with a feather in his hat as a callback to the original legend.

Content Notes: Created for the Counterculture Creature challenge. Thanks to clevermanka's "a vampire tending a garden" suggestion for sparking this visual. I tried to give it a light, storybook illustration kind of feel, but still tried to keep a bit of mystery and slight creepy factor to the vampire.

The vine border itself is made up of moonflowers, which apparently only open their blooms at night, and then close up again by morning. Inspired by me bingeing all 9 episodes of The Haunting of Bly Manor yesterday. -__-
