Today's the last day of July, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in July, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming art challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

NB: A Round-Up for the Scribble Art Challenge was posted today, and a new monthly challenge will be issued this week. :)

I ended up doing multiple pieces for this month's challenge, mainly because I've been on vacation for the last couple weeks and had the time/energy.

It's wonderful seeing all the entries and participation in these challenges - you guys inspire me! <333

Also, I started teaching myself how to do digital art, so that's been a lot of fun. :) I'm particularly enjoying the ability to undo and make copies of my work for experimenting and creating variations as I go along.

Right?? *g* I love the freedom it gives you to rewind and keep on trying. There's no need to be afraid that you'll ruin or mess up your work.

Yes, digital art is a lot of fun these days! I really enjoy using Procreate even though Photoshop can still do a few things more easily, but these days I keep it in reserve. But being able to sit comfortably in an armchair and potter on my iPad is nice. The layers function is such a great way to colour drawings and I recently started playing with the specialty brushes in Procreate and exploring those. Hours of entertainment!

The brushes are so cool! The free version of Adobe Fresco that I'm using only has a limited amount of them, but there's still a decent variety. :)

July was very productive for me on the creative front - I had two Big Bang art posts go live, I made an original painting for a sunshine_challenge prompt, and I've been working on finding my own art style via a Skillshare class that is pretty intense as far as the amount of work going into it. But I'm finding the process very much worth it.

I also had a fic revealed for a challenge, picked up and completed a pinch hit for the same challenge, wrote a random thing that popped into my head, and wrote another fic as a response to a sunshine_challenge prompt.

So yeah, July has been busy.

I had a lot on this past month, and am still head down working to finish a major art project for the due South Big Bang (a 14 page comic). I did three artworks for multifandomdoodle - Alien Encounter being my assignment, and I took on a couple of pinch hits, Gothic Waltz and In the Shadows, which meant researching fandoms I had no idea about, so that was interesting.
Apart from the scribble drawing for drawesome I also wrote a shortish fic for the Stargate 25 years anniversary and did a fic-art Venom/Murderbot crossover Lethal Protectors for the Venom "Let there be chocolate" fest. Plus the Captain America/Marvel Reversebang went live, with art by me (Getting to Know You, another Venom comic, for which monicawoe wrote a great story), and a fic for keire_ke's lovely unicorn art (That Thing Is Not A Goat, Bucky). So yeah, busy busy, and still working to a deadline for another couple of weeks. :)
With all that I've had to put the Stargate Tarot on hold for a few weeks, but I'll definitely come back to it once the dS Big Bang is done.

Wow, so much wonderful art! The Star Trek one is so cool! And go you for pinch hitting, especially for fandoms you're unfamiliar with. Both pieces are beautifully done. :)
