Today's the last day of May, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in May, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming art challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

Reminder: A Round-Up for the MerMay Challenge will be posted later this week, and a new monthly challenge will be issued. :)

I did so many craft-related projects this month IRL, but haven't done much in terms of drawn "Art", however! I did manage to post my underwater AU painting in time for MerMay, so that totally counts, right? :D

I'm really hoping that things will slow down enough in the coming month so that I can get back to doing some relaxing drawing exercises. :)

I had Mermay ideas but not really any energy. 😭 Attempting to decide if I can justify signing up for multifandomdoodle. And I'm noodling about on a map for something I want to write. My first time trying maps!

Ooh, I see that sign-ups just opened! Feel free to make a post at drawesome advertising the challenge, if you want. It looks pretty low-stress, so maybe others at the comm might be interested in giving it a go. :)

I finally posted a story I spent 6 months writing!

I have a sketch done for Mermay but haven't been able to clean up and color it yet.

I don't know what happened with my creativity lately, but I've barely done anything. (I filled exactly one page in my sketchbook in May and it was the mermaid drawing.)

I managed some pics in May with a card in my Stargate Tarot series, a digital collage cover for a podfic I was restoring to the Archive, and the two MerMay works posted here. Still feel a bit antsy though as there are writing tasks with deadlines approaching which I've been totally procrastinating about. I'll just have to buckle down and start writing! >:(

Yeah, the ups and downs are weird. I've filled entire sketchbooks in just a couple of months but the last few months I've been completely uninspired.

Nice! You can post it at the comm at any time after the round-up, no hurry. Also, it can be posted as complete, or still at the work-in-progress stage. :)

Hmm...maybe our next challenge at the comm could be along the lines of a "warm-up" type of drawing exercise.
