How about a challenge where you use something else to make your picture, like pointillism or straight lines or anything really, like squares. Or even cross-hatching. Using smaller elements for values, edges, and volumes. Instead of traditional lineart.

I'm not sure I'm explaining what I mean very well. . .

Interesting. We'd need to explain the challenge and ideally link people to some sort of resource(s) or examples. Can you think of a few?

Oooh, these are all really cool! :)

I think there's a lot of scope for drawing challenges here. The drawing techniques used are quite varied though, so ideally I think maybe we could do them by individual type, and link a tutorial and a couple examples for each kind. eg.
- Hatching/Cross-hatching challenge
- Scribbled Lines challenge
- Pointillism/Stippling challenge
- Shapes(?) challenge (for this one I will have to look up what term would apply)

The shapes one is basically a mosaic, but in some ways it's like the stippling or pointillism, just with larger shapes that are all the same size and are differently coloured. Maybe bundle it in so like, have a stippling/pointillism/mosaic challenge? People could use any shape, not just squares. Like, I once made a drawing for a friend's wedding invite of a tree covered in tiny red flowers where every flower was a heart. :)
