Challenge #24 - Poetry Illustration

Create a drawing inspired by poetry.

Thanks to minoanmiss for sparking the idea for our latest challenge. April 18th is Poem In Your Pocket Day, so over the next few weeks you can select a favourite piece of poetry and create an artwork or illustration based on or inspired by it. You can even convert it into a postcard for sharing. Please feel free to use the comment section of this post for discussion of the prompt (ie. ideas, suggestions, questions, etc.).


Poetry Month
National Poetry Month, a celebration of poetry which takes place each April, was introduced in 1996 and is organized by the Academy of American Poets as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States. Since 1998, National Poetry Month has also been celebrated each April in Canada.

Poem In Your Pocket Day
National Poem in Your Pocket Day is observed each April. This day was created to share the joy that poems bring by carrying one in your pocket and sharing it throughout the day with others. Across the country, businesses, libraries, schools and individuals have shared a poem on National Poem in Your Pocket Day.

A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done on Thursday 18th April, 2019.
