Admin post: Community Check-in for November & December 2023

It's the new year so time for our end of year check-in! We'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you these past couple of months?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in November and December, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming art challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on.

Reminder: I'll do a post on Twelfth Night (Jan 6th) rounding up the Seasons challenge, and starting a new one - so if, like me, you're still working on an artwork for the Seasons challenge, you have a bit more time. :D

Phew, the last two months of the year went by so fast.

My artworks:











All of these were done in November, December was full of real life commitments, though I did get a lot of reading done during the holidays at least.

For me, these two months were mainly full of gardening, procrastinating about a few end of year exchange deadlines, and starting my seasonal cards. I did an artwork for the Seasons challenge, and a work for the SGA Fanart discord 2nd year birthday celebration - Let Me Go. Then I posted a due South artwork Snow Angels for the due South seekrit santa. I also wrote a medium sized story and a couple of drabbles for SGA. The new year brings some podficcing, more art, and hopefully more fic writing. And gardening! Enjoying pottering outside is reducing my indoor time for art, but after I finish the last of my cards I'll have more time.

Hello! The last few months of 2023 were stressful in their own way. But I have been keeping up with my own projects and art.

I'm still happy to be a part of this group and hopefully in the future can do some of the actives.

The last couple of years have been rough personally and I'm really hoping there will be time and energy to do more art in 2024. (As anyone who follows my personal journal knows, I moved at the end of the year so November and December were pretty chaotic for me.)
