I posted my usual art review today and added the questions at the end. Some of them (like favourite artwork) were already answered int he first part. I'm posting the brief version here:
1. What was your most challenging artwork to create (or took the longest time)?
I think Window and Retirement took the longest time because there was so much hatching and texture involved. And The Little Tomb Robber's Alphabet was an almost year-long project that took some creative thinking of combining text and images in a page layout inspired by prompts.
Retirement (G, DMBJ)

Window (G, DMBJ)

2. What was your easiest artwork to create (or fastest)?
Definitely the Conference of Underground Dwellers mentioned above in Most Fun Artwork.
Conference of Underground Dwellers (G, DMBJ)
This came about while discussing something in the Yucun Discord. I did a 5 minute sketch, and then another one prompted by a comment from someone. This is the tomb critters holding a conference warning of the invasive species of tomb robbers disturbing their peaceful habitat. I was laughing while drawing it.

3. What was your favourite artwork that you made this year?
Window (G, DMBJ)

My favourite new character from the DMBJ universe: Su Nan.
4. What was your least favourite artwork that you made this year?
Oooh that is hard to say. Even the sketches that I didn’t post had something for me to learn from.
5.&6 Did you try a new art technique this year? How did it go?/Did you learn any new art tips or tricks?
Not that I can recall.
7. What were your favourite art supplies to use this year? Were any tools or materials new to you?
I used my favourites: ink, pencil and watercolour. I did work more with watercolour tubes than pans and came to appreciate that I can let the colour blob dry in my palette and rewet it more easily and make a larger amount of colour for big areas.
8. Did you find a new artist or art style to be inspired by this year? Tell us about it.
I posted about two artists here. I do not plan to do linocut or woodblock printing but I admire that style a lot. And I think it was Tumblr where I first saw a woodblock print by Kawase Hasui. I’ve since checked out a lot of his works (he was extremely prolific) and have come to adore his compositions and use of colour. I even have a small project inspired by his works in mind for this year.
