These can be done on a daily or weekly basis, or simply by trying to complete as many prompts as you can for the month. You are welcome to use any list of prompts as inspiration, including our official community list below.

2. You may attempt these artworks using ink and inking techniques, or use whatever traditional or digital media you wish. The main thing is to have fun with your medium of choice.

Drawtober 2025 Prompt 4. Pool

Title: Day 4 - Pool
Artist: [personal profile] leecetheartist
Rating: G
Content Notes: Drawn directly with a nib pen, no pencil. This is Masquerade shimmer ink from Diamine. The pen is one of[personal profile] rdm  's  prototypes from the 3dprinter, fitted with a Schmidt 241 Broad nib. I put my back into this one, it took me most of the day. And you even get a microfic to go with it.

I'd only ever seen one of the creatures at the quiet pond. I'd no idea what it was, just saw it the once, and I don't think it saw me. It was just sliding into the water, a Splendid Wren chittering at it as it submerged, and was lost amongst the lilies.

I didn't tell anyone about it, and I had already put my voice amongst those who wanted to preserve the place as a sanctuary. With Alcoa getting out of the place, we had a good chance while things were in flux, and really, lovely pool, ferns around and the birdlife was great.

Glad I did, because when the aliens came looking for their lost child, and when the authorities started asking around, I had a quiet word. I even got to talk with the kid after. Quite the experience.

And suddenly Earth is talking with the big guns of the Galaxy, and seems like they owe us a favour. When they heard I was pushing for the sanctuary before I'd even spotted Junior whether it was a cryptozoological treasure or not, that impressed them because they're conservationists too. Turns out they want to offer me a job helping them talk to people who'd like their help getting rid of all these nasty forever chemicals in their environments.

Okay, then.

Drawtober 2025 Prompt 3. Friendship

Title: Day 3 - Friendship
Rating: G
Content Notes: Drawn directly with a nib pen, no pencil. This time it's the Early Dusk Ink from Diamine.

If you're an Amphisbaena , you're never alone. This one seems to be getting along just fine with itself. Itselves?

Drawtober 2025 Prompt 2. Molten

Title: Day 2 - Molten
Rating: G
Content Notes: Drawn directly with a nib pen, no pencil.

Two young dragons, not old enough to have fire of their own have a good firedrake friend who will help them with their fondue problem.
This was fun to draw, loose and easy straight after drawing the first one, I am still in catch up mode.

Drawtober 2025 Prompt 1. Through a Window

Title: Day 1 - Through a window
Rating: G
Content Notes: Drawn directly with a nib pen, no pencil.

Playing catch up for Drawtober, not too far behind.

So you're floating along in your submarine and suddenly out the porthole some strange selkie kelpie sea serpent thing is waving and pointing at something out of view. It looks friendly but what is it trying to say?

Drawn with a chameleon shimmer ink, which I have no chance of capturing in this light. It's the first of the purple inkvent calendar from Diamine which rdm bought me, a nice way to hit Drawtober.

Drawtober: Day 1 (Through a window)

Title: Day 1 - Through a window
Artist: [personal profile] goss
Rating: G
Content Notes: Created on Oct 1st, for Day 1 of the Drawtober 2025 challenge. Prompt: Through a window.

Sketched with pencil, then filled with marker, using a reference photo. I'd like to focus on figure drawing over the course of this month, especially trying to convey the feel of movement using fewer lines/strokes.

Drawtober days 1 & 2: Through a Window, and Molten

Title: Through a Window, and Molten.
Artist: [personal profile] mific
Rating: G
Fandom: original work
Content Notes: I'm sure I won't manage all the Drawtober prompts but here are the first two: "through a window" and "molten". Not a flight I'd want to be on, though! Made in Procreate.

Admin Post: Drawtober 2025: Requesting Prompts

DRAWTOBER is almost here! :D

All About Drawtober Details below )

We will be putting together our own community Prompt List over the next few days, and would once more love to have your input.

As with previous years (2018 | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024), we're requesting prompts from you all for this October. A few words/phrases from each person will be selected to make up our community list of 31 prompts (one for each day in October).

You can suggest your own prompts, or any that pique your interest from other October Prompt Lists out there. The deadline for suggesting prompts is in just a few days as we're a little late calling for prompts - Tuesday 30th September, 2025.

Please reply in the comments with 1-5 prompts. Suggestions are welcome from all community members.

Thanks! :)

Challenge #73: September

The challenge this month is what you see on the tin! Anything inspired by the month of September, which might be fall or spring depending which hemisphere you're in - like early harvests, or daffodils and spring vegetables. Or it could be something entirely different from the seasons - this Wikipedia article might give you some ideas. Like September's birthstone which is sapphire, or its birth flowers the forget-me-not, morning glory and aster. Then there are the September zodiac signs, Virgo and Libra.

In fanart, you might draw your favourite character in an autumn or spring setting, or something from an episode that first aired in September. Then there's the expression "a May and September relationship", if that applies. Any inspiration from the prompt is fine!

A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done at the end of September, after which October is Drawtober time again (our version of Inktober).

For Challenge #72 - Happy

I didn't think I would ever post here as my art is photography. However, I have been playing Drawception and it has raised my confidence, because it doesn't have to be Art, it just has to get the point across. (There are some amazing artists to enjoy, but I'm drawing with my finger on a phone and I'm ok with that.) And other people seem to like my drawings!

Here's Rincewind from Discworld in a Situation, the first one I was proud of:

And here's my favorite book:

Dartmare, For the happy challenge

I'm working on this book about sky whales and it is currently making me *sad writer trombone sound* so I decided to switch things up and paint about it instead. This did indeed make me happy! Woo!

So, let's see if I can link to the post in my journal. Apologies if I break the internet with my horrible html skills.
