Content Notes: brush pen art for the #17 - Disability Diversity challenge. I figure swimming is probably out of the question with the 1940s prosthesis but Sousa can still enjoy the California view? Also I did fashion research and discovered that Hawaiian shirts were genuinely a thing at the time, and not just the AC wardrobe department happily trolling Enver Gjokaj.

\o/ Thanks for the tag! I had ideas of more invisible disabilities that I almost did instead, but the actor for that character got fired for being a jerk and it killed my motivation. Closed canons ftw.

Oh yes! Is it weird that I'd actually forgotten Sousa was an amputee? He's such a powerful character, he doesn't feel disabled to me.

Interesting, cause I think of it as a pretty big part of his characterisation. OTOH Agent Carter was all about the 1940s underdogs getting to be powerful. So Sousa got to kick ass on a wooden leg and Peggy, Dottie, and Rose got to knock down sexist assholes bigger than they were, and it was glorious.

Now I miss the show! Sigh.

DANIEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recently rewatched the show and it totally reignited my love for all the awesome characters in it.

Sousa is such a good choice for this challenge because show was all about how he actually is better at the agent type stuff, and looking at the big picture, and getting promoted <3 He is what a boss should be :-)

Also, HAWAIIAN SHIRTS for the win!

Yeah, Sousa was a good balance between punch first ask questions later Peggy, and politicking Jack. The show was so good, I miss it.
