Drawesome Challenge 23 - Fantasy Reversal

Challenge #23 - Fantasy Reversal

Draw a character or scene as a Fantasy AU, or reverse Fantasy to the Real World.

Take a fantasy genre fandom and turn it into a mundane human AU, or turn a fandom based in the real/human world into a fantasy alternative universe. Please feel free to use the comment section of this post for discussion of the prompt (ie. ideas, suggestions, questions, etc.).

A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done on Saturday 2nd March, 2019.

Happy Drawing, everyone! :)

Wingart and wingfic - eternal faves!

One thing to mention is that science fiction is a different genre from fantasy, so sci-fi can be used as a "real world" option here - e.g. shows like Star Trek and Stargate, as long as they don't inherently contain magic/magical creatures. Fantasying up sci-fi fandom characters or settings is always fun - I can think of at least two fandom sci-fi characters with very pointy ears!

I was asking myself if this option might have been available. Thank you!

Ooooh. *contemplates* Does the 'real world' just mean now or mean any historical era?

Yes I think any historical era would be okay because, rumors aside, as far as we know magic/magical creatures didn’t exist then either!

Mmm ponders, wonder if I can use this to inspire a prompt for the Wincest BB.

I'm still trying to figure out where Yu-Gi-Oh falls on the fantasy to not-fantasy scale. ...Eh, I'll draw the characters doing mundane things in a fantasy world (as opposed to fantasy things in a mundane world).

Yes, examples of taking fantasy genre characters and putting them in a mundane world would be things like a coffee shop staffed by hobbits, with Aragorn and Arwen sharing a muffin, or just fantasy characters in ordinary clothes, like if they usually wear silk gowns, put them in modern jeans and a t-shirt, etc. Or modernise a fantasy warrior's weapons, so instead of a sword they carry an AK-47. Or anything like that you can dream up!

I'm going to have to put this one in the back of my mind! Something might pop out, but I'm really busy at the moment. I never know what I'm going to come up with when I'm supposed to be doing something else though, so you never know.

This is such a great challenge! I am spoilt for choice regarding fandoms and thatis exactly the problem right now.
