A challenge on another comm was to create an ABSTRACT piece of art. I decided to do a digital painting and this inspired me to look at the Drawesome challenges and in particular, Challenge 7. My 5th interest was Chris/Ezra so I wanted to show the two sides of Chris Larabee (1) before meeting Ezra, black, broodier, shoot to kill, and (2) after - white hat, smiling, love.

Oooh, "Abstract style" would indeed be a cool challenge idea!

Even though I can definitely see the contrast between the two, I like how it's done in such a way that it still look like different sides of the same person. Also, I like the colour palette you used for the background and the repeated themes throughout. :)

I've never tried creating anything in abstract before even though I've always been partial to Kandinsky.

This is so conceptually need--I especially love the bolder, saturated colors, especially the reds, of the symbols against the pastel blocks, and the way the bolder colors make the figure stand out. The composition has great rhythm, too.

Thank you :) I wanted to bring in aspects of Ezra - who is a cardsharp with a penchant for the Ace of Spades :)

Thank you! In the show there was a flashback of happier times for Chris, and the 'man in black' was wearing white :)
