Notes: Angelica Schuyler, played by Renée Elise Goldsberry. Done with coloured pencils for challenge #34. I made the toned paper with acrylic ink which gave it some texture, and the relative darkness of the background made it a little harder to get the white to show so I probably overworked it a bit. Interesting process, anyway.

Oh man, I'm so sorry I missed this! I like how you made your own toned paper! And the extreme tones you used really enhance and give it that rounded, 3D effect. :)

Thanks! I don't usually work with coloured pencils, so it was interesting to try them. I discovered that I much prefer using them on toned paper, rather than on white, and I have a few other pieces of multimedia paper with different coloured toning to use up at some point. But I made the bits small, like 6"x4.5", so that limits subject choices a bit. I also found I had to trace the drawing onto the paper using pencil scribbled on the back of the initial drawing, as the toned paper was too dark for my usual method with a lightbox.
