Content Notes: I used this tutorial for the background, did two test runs on small format pieces, one of which turned out a lot better than this - it was a lot easier to create this type of background without having to paint around a shape that was supposed to stay white. Ah well. Next time I'll probably use masking tape to cover the area.

AW YES *cheers* Oh, this is so, so gorgeous and resonates with/illustrates the poem so well! And you did amazingly well at leaving the clear space for the figures -- the luminous effect is downright spectacular!

Lovely! The galaxy effect is great. I had a look at that tutorial - I wonder if that artist does the galaxy and then adds the portraits later in gouache or something, over the top? Or I guess masking fluid would work, too. Anyway, this is very tender, and I like their flowing robes.

I'm thinking that the tutorial I used wasn't meant for adding stuff later on probably. goss linked to a tutorial in her post for this challenge that had the galaxy *inside* the person's head so that was different again.
