Imgur Image Hosting changes

In case you hadn‘t known yet, this may be relevant to some of our community members:

Image hosting platform Imgur is set to ban explicit images on its platform from May 15. The company updated its terms of service and said that the company will focus on removing “nudity, pornography, & sexually explicit content” from the site later this month.

The MediaLab-owned company said that explicit content formed a risk to Imgur’s “community and its business” and disallowing such stuff will “protect the future of the Imgur community.”

The image hosting platform said that it will still allow artistic nudity but as it is switching to a mix of automatic and human moderation, there might be issues in uploading certain content.

I switched to Imageshack to be able to post my art to AO3 some years back (I use Dreamwidth hosting for my posts here in my journal), what do you guys use nowadays?

Squidge.org is what I use as it’s for fans and nonprofit so will never pull this kind of shit. Storing non-fannish stuff is fine there too.

I use filegarden; it's operated by a Homestuck fan I personally trust. If I didn't already have a host I was used to, I'd probably use squidge imagehosting.

I pay for server space old-school style, at HostGator (I started with the $3/mo plan, though I think later I switched to the $7/mo plan because I have a habit of making websites on a whim). I also have a free BackBlaze account for nsfw stuff that I don't want directly associated to my server. I use DropShare to quickly upload to any of those folders.

Github, but they don't allow nsfw.
