Community Check-In for June 2021

Today's the last day of June, and we'd love to have you check in and chat with us. How have things been with you this past month?

Did you sign up for or take part in any fandom activities in June, or have you been working on any personal art projects? Are you currently trying to meet a deadline? Feel free to share upcoming challenges that have got you excited, any frustrations you've been experiencing, possible goals for the next month, and so on. :)

I posted a story and a picture I'm both proud of! I had to learn to draw a cat for the latter.

Aside of that I pretty much failed for the month. I never drew any hirameki. But I have loved the ones everyone has drawn.

Cats are tricky, but fun! Go you with the story, my muse has been sadly absent. :(

It feels like I haven‘t done any art for ages. I started with the Hirameki challenge which was fun but then work took over and I‘m still scrambling. I managed to work on a NiF watercolour WIP (also early in the month), and stress doodled with some glitter pens on black paper last week. I might post that at some point.

Yeah, I've struggled more this month, but I don't have the excuse of work or a child. Anything you can manage is impressive!

I feel a bit blah about the past month - I managed to keep up momentum with my Stargate tarot paintings but have achieved little else, and have also felt nonspecifically unwell in the past few days. Partly it's as I have a bigger writing deadline hanging over me and am in the procrastination doldrums. The cold in the past week hasn't helped (here in the land of uninsulated wooden houses and crappy electric heaters). Anyway, I managed one fic I'm happy with, and 4 cards: The Lovers, The Chariot, Justice, and The Hermit.

I had a writing assignment but ended up making art for it too. It's anonymous currently or I would link it here.

I managed the hirameki, but aside from that, June wasn't very productive in terms of art.
