Thank you for joining drawesome! mific and I will be your administrators in this multi-fandom drawing community. We're looking forward to your input in making this an interactive, lively place. :)

I've got a temporary issue with uploading new sketches so... answering some questions with words alone and some with old sketches I happen to have.

Right now, I'm... super into micro-fandoms, like... (sadly I don't have ANY sketches of the characters from current hyperfixation 'St. Elsewhere', but I'm heavily obsessed with the movie 'Transylvania 6-5000' at the moment, and then also just... anything else Jeff Goldblum has ever done.

Also, Good Omens is my favorite book, though I'm not currently involved in the fandom, really.

Technically this painting is not MY incredibly beautiful but stupid cat, but, cats in general I cannot live without.

I have no art of things I dislike, but I'm afraid of spiders and I detest bigots of any stripe.

I'm currently listening to 'I Get a Kick Out of You', which has been running through my head a lot lately.
7. Something you miss
Empanadas. Homemade, by my aunt who is from Chile. One time when my uncle and aunt visited my other-aunts-and-mom here, she took over the whole kitchen for a whole day, she filled every surface with empanadas and they were the best I'd ever eaten. I dream about those empanadas.
8. A favourite quote

Empanadas! I have never actually tried one, but the way you speak about it makes me want to go investigate immediately. ^___^

The great thing about empanadas is that there's such a huge variety. Like, the first kind I ever came across was ground beef with raisins? But the ones my aunt made were chicken and cheese, with a slice of hard boiled egg in the middle of each, plus a vegetarian option for my sister... so like, if you run across one that sounds un-palatable, someone somewhere uses something you'll probably like, I've now seen them with just about everything...

DBH is Detroit: Become Human. It's a PS$ game that I have never actually played (as I have no PS4), but I watched some playthroughs and the fan content is so <3

OMG, I had to let you know that, thanks to your prompting, when I went to Toronto over the Christmas holidays, I tried empanadas (for the very first time) from two different places and they were WONDERFUL! :D :D :D

BTW, the kind I had was chicken with a boiled egg (and olive).

Hi there - you use that little icon above the posting field with a bumped line on top. Hover your mouse and it should say. But honestly easier to switch to html and insert < cut > at start of the cut/readmore and < /cut > at the end of that section or pic. :)
Ha - it won't show the code of course, so delete the spaces inside the angle brackets.

Thank you for the advice!! I think there must be something wrong with my account because I have html settings on but for some reason I still can't put things behind a cut. I can bold and italicise and even strike but not cut?

Weird! - cut and /cut is definitely the right html code, though. No luck using the rich text side and that "cut" icon, I guess? You just select the part to be cut and click it. Oh - and if you then post it, the options list to check the post won't show the cut - it'll show the whole post. You have to look at the community as a whole to see the cut working.

I don't seem to be able to use the rich text editor when commenting. After having a look around I've found that's normal, though! So instead I'll just post the images as much smaller files, haha.

No, duh - sorry, I forgot that this into post is structured so you reply as a comment.
That's why you can't use a cut - there are no cuts in DW comments. I clearly need more coffee!
Yes, using thumbnails is the only way I'm afraid. If your pics are loaded into DW's own storage it will give you the code for the thumbnail and link to full pic. Or just hand-code it if they're elsewhere.

I'm fresh off the boat to Dreamwidth and so I may be a bit shy, but I love being surrounded by artists! I look forward to being active in this community. :)


(About number 7, I used to be a mail-person! The pay was awful but I was able to choose what time I could do it in-between classes, listen to my music and get heaps of exercise while thinking about plotting stories.)

Don't worry about it! I definitely know about needing more coffee. It's been a while since I've been on a forum-like platform (I'm a tumblr refugee) so some issues with coding is expected. Enjoy your coffee!

Hello and welcome to our community! Hope you are settling in nicely here at Dreamwidth, and glad to see you got the formatting thing all sorted out. :)

By the way, images in comments can be any size you wish. I would suggest using the Preview feature before posting a comment though, because we've noticed that once someone has replied to your comment, you can't go back and edit its contents.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions about features on DW, we'll be glad to help.
